Applying For a Scholarship
Online Application for the 2023-2024 school year closes on March 14, 2024.
The Online Application for the 2024-2025 school year will be available on March 15, 2024.
AzTxCr awards scholarships twice a month. Applying early allows more opportunities for your student to receive scholarship awards during the school year.
By filling out our online application you are applying for tuition assistance with Arizona Tax Credit for your full-time child or children attending a private Arizona school or who are in the enrollment process. If a private school only offers half day kindergarten classes that satisfy kindergarten requirements then the student is considered full-time.
As a parent or guardian you need to apply one time per school year. Incomplete applications will not be considered for a scholarship award. Please make sure you have read the instructions carefully, answered all questions and have included all the necessary information and documentation required when applying.
Items you will need:
Gross Annual Income amounts for each member of your household. Any individuals living as one economic unit and sharing housing income and expenses is considered a member of the household. This includes grandma, uncle, and even an unrelated individual if they are living with you and share income and expenses. You will need to include the current gross annual income for all applicable household members as long as it is a fair representation of their normal household income. If not, and in the case of self-employed individuals, please include an average gross yearly income from past years to current.
Additional Optional Documentation to support your request for tuition assistance. These documents may include:
- Your most recent filed tax returns
- The most current report card for the child or children you are applying for
- A letter of recommendation
If you are applying for Overflow/Plus and Corporate funding awards, verification of eligibility is a requirement. You will need to include one of the following: 1)previous tax credit scholarships received (if not from Arizona Tax Credit), 2) public school attendance form, 3)moved to Arizona from out of state within the last year verification form, 4) Home school verification form with additional requested documents per the form, 5)previous ESA recipient-cancellation form with ESA and documentation of award given to the student from ESA. One of the options above must be provided in order to be considered for Overflow/Plus and Corporate funding unless entering kindergarten. The forms are available to download here:
Award letters from other STOs for your child or children are also acceptable forms of verification. You may submit additional verification forms via fax to (877) 750-7050 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Thank you for taking the time to apply with Arizona Tax Credit. We are excited to be a partner with you.
Please note if your child or children have a contract with ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account):The ESA statute (A.R.S. §15-2402(B)(3)) requires that while a parent has a contract with the ESA program, a student cannot receive both ESA and STO money for the same period.
Tax credit scholarships and ESA funds cannot be used at the same time to pay a student’s tuition. Students receiving ESA funds may still be considered for and awarded tax credit scholarships, but awards will be HELD in the student’s name as Multi-Year Scholarships to be used in a future school year when the student is no longer participating with ESA and the account has been cancelled. (documentation required) We will hold Multi-Year Scholarships as long as an online Scholarship Application is submitted for the student each school year and the student remains enrolled in a qualified Private Arizona School.
